Dry Creek Post's Story
Dry Creek Post began the way many of the best ideas do, with a vision and the courage to simply go for it. For owner Kim Coslett, creativity has always been second nature. With a background as a nurse, paired with years of entrepreneurial and artistic pursuits, from running a coffee shop and boutique to designing clothing and recording music, she’s never been one to follow a single path. Instead, she’s built a life around creating, connecting, and bringing people together.
That spirit is exactly what led to the creation of Dry Creek Post. Inspired by a love of the outdoors, meaningful experiences, and hosting gatherings that bring people closer, Kim set out to build something that felt different. Not just another place to stay, but a place where guests could experience something memorable.

From the very beginning, her approach was simple : when inspiration strikes, act on it. No overthinking. Just a clear vision and forward momentum.
What started as an idea quickly took shape into a property full of personality and purpose. Each lodging option was designed with intention, spaces that reflect the kind of experiences Kim herself would want to have. Whether it’s a secluded glamping tent offering quiet and privacy or a creatively reimagined bus with a fun, inviting atmosphere, every detail is meant to feel thoughtful and unique.
At the heart of Dry Creek Post is a deep appreciation for connection, not just to the land, but to people. Kim’s favorite part of what she’s built is the opportunity to meet guests, share stories, and create an environment where others feel welcome and at ease. That same passion is poured into the Rowdy Rooster, a one-of-a-kind gathering space designed for events, music, and shared experiences.
After years in the Flint Hills, Kim and her family have come to love the strong sense of community and the natural beauty that surrounds them. It’s something she hopes every guest experiences during their stay, the realization that Kansas holds more than people expect and that there’s something special waiting here.
Looking ahead, the vision for Dry Creek Post continues to grow, with plans for additional cabins and more opportunities to host events and bring people together. But at its core, the mission remains the same : to create a place where guests feel refreshed, inspired, and excited to return.

Your Host
Kim Coslett is the creative force behind Dry Creek Post, a place built from her lifelong passion for people, creativity, and meaningful experiences. Originally from Sedgwick, Kansas, Kim was drawn to the Flint Hills by its natural beauty and the strong sense of community she found there. What began as a move became something much more... a place to put down roots and bring a vision to life.
Kim’s path has never been just one thing. While she spent much of her career as a nurse, her creative spirit has always led her to explore new ventures. She has owned and operated a coffee shop and restaurant, launched a vintage boutique, designed and sold clothing and accessories, and pursued music as a singer-songwriter, recording multiple albums both solo and with a band.
That same energy and curiosity are what shaped Dry Creek Post. Inspired by a love for hosting, the outdoors, and creating spaces where people can connect, Kim set out to build something that felt different. Her goal was simple : to offer guests not just a place to stay, but an experience she would want to have herself.

Known for her spontaneous, creative, and kind nature, Kim approaches life with a “full steam ahead” mindset, turning ideas into reality without hesitation. Today, her favorite part of Dry Creek Post is still the people. Welcoming guests, sharing stories, and creating a place where others can relax, connect, and feel at home.
